It should tell the employer why you want the job and your unique skills and qualities that make you qualified for the job in a short, three paragraph letter.
Writing an Effective Technology Resume Cover Letter
When it comes to writing a winning cover letter, there are a few rules you need to follow.
1. Research the company/Customization
When applying to jobs, your technology resume cover letter needs to be tailored to each job description. In order to do so, it’s important to research the company so that you are able to personalize it and stand out among other applicants. Knowing a little bit about the company also allows you to figure out what tone you should write your letter in.
Your cover letter should emphasize experiences and skills you have with specific technologies that are relevant to the job you are applying for and utilize key words from the job description. Your ultimate goal is to show the employer or recruiter that you are a great match for their job.
2. Don’t copy your resume

You should also show your future potential through your writing. Hiring managers are looking for candidates that have the drive to grow professionally and give reasons of benefiting the company. 3. Write clearly
Your technology resume should be written simply and clearly. Many jobs require strong communication skills, and this includes written communication. There is really no need to use a thesaurus for every word because you are not trying to portray yourself as “more intelligent” than you are, just be yourself.
